In Islamic architecture, a riwaq often surrounds and defines the courtyards of mosques and education institutions. Traditionally such spaces have served as a place for meeting, consultation, and reflection. At LIAS, Al Riwaq will draw upon students, faculty, and community members to offer a channel to come together for dialogue, discussions, and discourse. Al Riwaq plays a key role in identifying opportunities for collaborative opportunities between social sector and community organizations and LIAS. This may take the form of working with our students, research collaboration, providing facilities, or other forms of support.
